Faith beyond high school

When you leave high school after graduation, a lot of changes are in your near future: living more independently, meeting a wide variety of people and backgrounds, and growing as a person. These are all good things. You change a lot in and after high school, and your faith is no different. Join us for this meaningful class to discuss what life and faith look like in the next chapter of life, and how to approach it thoughtfully and intentionally.

Capstone is an academic-year-length class that “caps” off your high school experience and invites you to think critically about how your faith will be a part of your life in college and beyond. The class will involve five in-person meetings (roughly one per month) at the church with your fellow seniors, as well as several writing and reading assignments to be completed over the course of the year. At the end of the class, we will take an overnight senior trip to a regional city to talk with people or organizations that have made faith part of how they live their lives. Don’t worry—of course we’ll leave time for a little sightseeing. The trip is not required to complete the class, but only students who have completed the class can join us for the trip.

There is no cost to participate in this class with your fellow seniors. You don’t have to be a member of Village to participate, and you don’t have to have gone through Confirmation either. We only require that you be in 12th grade and want to join us!
