Make sure to check out this month’s newsletter for a look at our upcoming events and trips!
Confirmation registration forms were sent out in the mail last week to everyone we have on our 9th grade roster, but we realize that many people…
– might not be in our database of address (no system is perfect!)
– might receive it and then lose/misplace it
– might not be connected to Village at the moment, but be recommended by a friend
– might not have their delivered (the USPS isn’t perfect either!)
– might be older than 9th grade but have not had a chance to take the class yet
In any of those cases, or for whatever reason, we are posting the contents of that letter, including the registration form and schedule, to this post, as well as to the Forms tab above.
If you have any questions about Confirmation, don’t hesitate to let us know!
Our programs are on Thanksgiving Break this week, so there is no Twosdays, no GPS (middle school youth group), and no Cheer (high school youth group).
Weekly programs return on Tuesday, the 29th!
This Friday (Nov. 11) we have two things going on for everyone who is out of school!
Middle School: Service Day at City Union Mission 9:30am-1:30pm
We’ll meet at the church at 9:30am and head into downtown to serve lunch at City Union Mission. Wear closed toed shoes and long pants, and come out to support a great organization. We’ll be back at the church by 1:30pm.
High School: Adventure Day at Top Golf 10:00am-12:30pm
We’ll meet at Top Golf at 10:00am for two hours of fun times. Top Golf provides any equipment you might need, so all you need to do is show up! If you have not yet been, you will need to set up a card at Top Golf when you arrive, which is only $5. What a deal!
Tonight is our annual PhotoHunt & Bring-a Friend Night! Come and join us for an amazing night of fun where we leave campus and do an epic scavenger hunt around the area. It is also bring-a-friend night! If you bring a friend tonight, you get entered into a raffle for a prize AND your friend gets entered into a raffle for a prize as well! It’s a crazy fun night, so join us!
P.S. – Don’t worry middle schoolers, your PhotoHunt is happening on Nov. 16th!
With Halloween around the corner, we are once again calling out for any leftover candy! We collect extra/leftover Halloween candy and put it into care packages for our college students – so fun! You can drop off any candy in the Youth Office, or at the front desk at either entrance to the church (just label it “Youth Ministry”).
Thank you in advance, both from us and from the college students who will receive it!
This Friday a lot of students are out of school (hooray!), so we are offering a service day (hooray, again!). We are meeting at the church at 9:30am and then heading over to Harvesters, a food bank, to volunteer for a couple of hours. DON”T FORGET TO WEAR CLOSED TOE SHOES!
We are planning to grab lunch afterward as well, so bring a few dollars for that, and we’ll be back at the church by 1:30pm.
Tomorrow we welcome Jenna Soltys as the Interim Associate Youth Director on the Village Youth Staff! Jenna’s warm personality, relatability, design skills, and love of God and faith are evident in her interactions with students and adults. Be sure to come by and meet her at any programs after Monday, or feel free to stop by after school! Here is a little information to help you get to know her better…
Jenna was an active member of the youth and music programs at Village growing up. After graduating from SME in 2008, Jenna spent five years at High Point University in North Carolina, worked at Montreat for two summers and two other summers directing music for KidShine Performing Arts Camps. For the last three years she has been living in Greeley, Colorado, completing her Masters in Music at the University of Northern Colorado and working at Cornerstone Community Church. She is so excited to be back in KC and part of the youth staff at Village!
