And what does that include? I’m glad you asked!

Sunday School (middle and high school, meet separately) – Sundays, 9:30-10:30am

Sunday Night Live (SNL, high school youth group) – Sundays, 6:30-8:30pm

Twosdays (after-school awesomeness for middle school) – Tuesdays, 4-5:30pm

Growing Personally & Spiritually (GPS, middle school youth group) – Wednesdays, 6:30-8pm

Early Table (morning devotional & breakfast for high schoolers) – Thursdays, 7:30-8:15am

And, if that wasn’t amazing enough, registration and forms will be out soon for all of our summer trips. AAAAAAANNNDDDD, we will be rolling out the ability to register for trips online as well as the ability to pay by credit card. Fancy!!!


Kick Off Week!

This Sunday begins Kickoff Week! We can’t wait for our regular programs to resume, and we have some special events happening later this month. Take a look at the Kick Off schedule as well as what’s coming around the bend…

Sky Zone for Middle Schoolers on September 24

On Sunday, Sept. 24, from 1:00-3:30pm we are meeting at Sky Zone (6495 Quivira Rd.) for an afternoon of fun! Cost is only $15 for two hours of jumping and games – what a deal! Registration forms can be found by clicking here.

12th Grade Dinner at Zach’s House, September 30

This year we are having a fun dinner night for each high school grade. The first one is for 12th graders and is hosted at Zach’s house (5401 W 77th St, PV, KS 66208) on Saturday, Sept. 30 from 6:30-8:30pm. No sign ups are necessary and friends are welcome. Just come by, eat some food, and hang out!

Ski Trip & Dominican Republic Registration Forms Available!

Sign ups for our Winter Ski Retreat (7th-12th Grades) and our Spring Break trip to the Dominican Republic (9th-12th Grades) can now be found on the forms page. Both trips have a limited number of spots, so be sure to send in forms soon to guarantee a spot. Each trip offers a different experience and we love them both!

Twosdays Starts October 3   

Don’t forget our weekly after-school program, 4:00-5:30pm, for middle schoolers starting on the first Tuesday in October. It’s a great way to check things out if you are new, meet lots of great people, and have a fun afternoon! When weather is good, students can walk down from Indian Hills, and when weather is cold or rainy we come down to give people rides in the Church Van. Don’t go to Indian Hills? Just contact us to arrange a ride!

Holiday Season Schedule

With Thanksgiving next week, we are officially at the beginning of the holiday season! We love this time of year, although it can certainly feel very busy. And, it also means the program schedule changes a little bit. Here’s what is (and isn’t) happening in the next few weeks (times and brief descriptions of events are listed at the bottom)…

Nov. 22-28
22 – Sunday School for all grades and Cheer for high school are both on!
24 – No Twosdays (Thanksgiving Break)
25 – No GPS for Middle School (Thanksgiving Break)

Nov. 29-Dec. 5
29 – Sunday School attends worship together; No Cheer for high school (Thanksgiving Break)
1 – Twosdays for middle school
2 – GPS for middle school + 1st Wednesday Dinner!

Dec. 6-12
All regular programming is happening – hooray!
AND, there’s a Special Event for Middle School on Dec. 6 from 1-3pm, watching a great holiday movie while making cookies!

Dec. 13-19
13 – Sunday School for all grades; Progressive Dinner Christmas Party at Cheer for high school!
15 – Twosdays for middle school
16 – Christmas Party at GPS for middle school

Cheer – High School Youth Group, Sundays, 6:30-8:30pm

1st Wednesday Dinner – Middle schoolers are invited to join us for dinner on the first Wednesday of the month! Bring $10 and arrive at 5:15pm – Yum!

Last Week of Programming for the School Year!

This week is the final full week of regular programming for the school year! If you have been busy lately, this is the week to come say hello – it’s your last chance!

Sunday – May 3 – Last Cheer & Last Confirmation Class (6:30-8:30pm)
Monday – May 4 – Confirmation Dinner (6-8pm)
Tuesday – May 5 – Last middle school Twosday (and Cinco de Mayo celebration!) (4-5:30pm)
Wednesday – May 6 – Last middle school GPS, and annual Messy Game Night (6:30-8pm)

After this Wednesday, Sunday school will still happen regularly on Sunday mornings during the 9:30am service. 

And, for those of you in high school, don’t forget about Study Hall on May 17th from 5-10pm. Come study for finals and grab a snack or two. And, dinner will be served at 6:30pm. Even if you prefer to study at home, come on out to grab dinner and say hello!

We’re Back!

After a few weeks off for Winter Break, we are back! We have missed all of you and can’t wait to see you soon! So you might be wondering what is happening now that program is starting back up. Well, here’s a little refresher course for you on what the upcoming week – and a typical week – looks like:

9:30-10:30am – Sunday School, grades 7-12
6:30-8:30pm – CHEER High School Youth Group, grades 9-12
6:30-8:30 – Confirmation Class Begins!

Tuesday, Jan. 13
4:00-5:30pm – Twosdays, grades 7 & 8

Wednesday, Jan. 14
6:30-8:00pm – GPS Middle School Youth Group, grades 7 & 8

Long Island Mission Trip 2015And, in case you missed it, the summer mission trip forms are also now available online and at the church.

And if all that wasn’t cool enough, we leave this Friday, the 16th, for the annual Winter Ski Retreat! Good times to be had by all? You know it!

Welcome to 2015!

With school starting back this week, we are excited for programming to start back on January 11! Not only do Sunday School and CHEER resume that day, but it is also the first Confirmation Class of the year! The rest of the week sees the return on Twosdays (Jan. 13, 4:00-5:30pm) and GPS (Jan. 14, 6:30-8:00pm).

The next couple of months sees a lot of activities going on here at VPC Youth: not only all the programming mentioned above, but also the Village Voices Lock-In (Jan. 10-11), Winter Ski Trip (Jan. 16-20), Superbowl Party (Feb. 1), Presidential Service Day (Feb. 16), and the Chili Cookoff (Feb. 22).

We can’t wait for the all the excitement to start, and hope you join us!
