Village Voices is the youth choir at Village. The youth choir takes music and performance seriously, but not at the cost of building community and having a lot of fun. In addition to a regular rehearsals and performances both in traditional and alternative worship services, the choir has two lock-ins each year (one in August and one in January), as well as an annual choir tour in June. In the past the choir tour has traveled to Chicago, Wichita, Oklahoma City, Memphis, St. Louis, Omaha, and more! The choir is directed by Matthew C. Shepard, an awesome leader with master’s degrees in both Conducting and Vocal Performance. If you are interested in joining the choir, or just want to hear more about it, don’t hesitate to contact Zach or Matthew! Village Voices is open to both middle school and high school students.
If you’re interested in joining Village Voices this semester, a great way to start is to come to the Winter Lock-In! This year (Jan 25-Jan 26) we are participating in a choir festival with several other children’s choirs from around the area. Get a registration form on our forms page.
This year, the Village Voices annual choir tour will be joining forces with the MS/HS combined mission trip (that happens once every four years!) to go to San Francisco! Get more details on the trip page.
