Got questions? We have answers.

Do I need to be a church member?

Nope! We welcome students of any and every background at all of our activities, including trips!

Do I have to sign up to come to youth group?

No sign up required! Just show up!

We’re new to Village, what should my student come to first?

Welcome! We’re excited you’re interested in youth life here at Village. You are invited to attend any youth events regardless of prior experience. However, some of our programs are specifically designed to be easy access points for our newcomers. The first youth group of each month (GPS for middle school and SNL for high school) are great nights to come for the first time. For middle school students, Lofternoons (our after-school program on Tuesdays from 4:00-5:30pm) is also a great intro to our youth programming on any week! Come, hang out, eat some food, and get to know some fellow KC youth. Check out our middle school programs here and high school programs here.

Who runs the youth events?

Our youth events are run by Rev. Zach Walker, Pastor of Youth Ministries, and Jenna Soltys, Associate Youth Director. Part-time staff also include Kevin Dolan, Youth Band Director, and Emma Pirotte, our year-long intern. We also rely on, and are extremely appreciative of, the help of volunteers who assist in making all of our programming and event possible!

Are adult volunteers screened?

Yes. In addition to us knowing all of the adults who volunteer, they are all also given a background check before they are able to volunteer with youth.

Where are the forms I need for trips?

Oh, so many places. You can find them online here. You can also find them by the Reception Desk at the South entrance of the church, outside the Youth Office, or in the Youth Loft.

Where do I drop off forms?

So many options! Forms can be dropped off at the Reception Desk located at the North or South entrances of the church, or directly in the Youth Office. They can also be mailed to Village Presbyterian Church (Attn. Youth) 6641 Mission Road, Prairie Village, KS 66208.

Do I pay a different price as a church member/non-member?

No. Members and non-members pay the same price for all of our trips and events. Scholarships are available for trips and events that are mission or spiritual-growth based. If money is ever a question, please reach out to use about scholarships!

What is the trip cancellation policy?

Refunds are dependent upon the trip and circumstances of cancellation. Contact us as soon as possible if you are not able to attend and have already paid a deposit.

Who do I make a check out to?

Please make checks out to Village Presbyterian Church.

Can I pay with a credit card?

Yes! We also accept checks and cash.

How do I volunteer?

Thank you so much for asking! We have volunteer opportunities in a variety of capacities with varied levels of personal interaction with students. If you’re interested in volunteering, email us at and a youth staff member will contact you!

What if I’m an adult that wants to go on a trip?

We are always in need of adult volunteers to help chaperone our trips! Our summer trips are free for adults. For our annual Ski Trip, adults go for half price (and cheaper if you’re interested in going as a non-skiing adult). Currently, adults pay the same price as students for our Dominican Republic Mission Trip. Email us at to learn more!
