Boundary Waters
The Boundary Waters trip returned home last Saturday with lots and lots of stories. One of the reasons I love that trip is because it presents a unique set of challenges to everyone who goes, but it also puts groups in situations to watch out for each other, and to live/survive together away from distractions (including cell service). In that way it is a hybrid of an adventure and a monastic retreat. In that environment a lot of your usual concerns fall away and you can be fully present with each other, in nature, and with God. And it helps to have GORP.
