So here we are on Day 2 of the Montreat conference! We arrived on Sunday just in time for evening programming, then had time to get settled into our cabins for the week and grab a good night of sleep before the hectic weekdays.
The theme this week is Rooted and Reaching, and so far we’ve been enjoying the discussion on how we both stay rooted (supported, grounded) while also reaching for other places and experiences. Both the small group time with the other students at the conference as well as our own talks back at the cabins, “Back Home Groups”, have brought a lot of goof ideas and reflection; we are looking forward to what the rest of the weeks holds in store!
I also think we will all come back with some tired, but healthy, legs (walking 4-6 miles a day!) not to mention some strong lungs from getting ourselves up and down all the hills between Assembly and home!
We hope everyone back home is enjoying a great week, and look forward to seeing you when we are back next week!
